Wine Passport ("the app") is developed by Janro Gerhard Botha ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data the app does and does not collect.

Summary

Wine Passport does not have user accounts, does not collect personal information, and does not send any data to us. Everything the app stores is kept only on your device.

Information Stored On Your Device

The app stores a list of which wineries you've marked as "visited" locally on your device, using standard on-device storage. This information:

Third-Party Services

Maps. The app displays an interactive map. On Android, this uses the Google Maps SDK, subject to Google's Privacy Policy. On iOS, the app uses Apple's native Maps, subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.

Navigation. When you tap "Navigate" on a winery, the app hands off to your device's installed maps app using the winery's coordinates. That app opens outside of Wine Passport and is governed by its own privacy policy — we have no visibility into or control over what it does with that information.

Children's Privacy

Wine Passport is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children, consistent with the fact that the app does not collect personal information from any user.

Changes to This Policy

If we change what data the app collects, we'll update this page and the effective date above.

You may use Wine Passport for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, redistribute, or resell the app or its content.

Winery Information

The app provides descriptions, locations, and other details about independent wineries in South Africa for general informational purposes. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or responsible for any winery listed in the app. Details such as opening hours, contact information, and availability may change without notice — always confirm directly with the winery before visiting. Coordinates and directions are provided via third-party mapping services; we are not responsible for their accuracy.

Your Content

The app stores your "visited winery" selections locally on your device. You're responsible for this data — we don't back it up, sync it, or have access to it (see our Privacy Policy).

Intellectual Property

The Wine Passport name, logo, and app design are owned by Janro Gerhard Botha. All rights reserved.

Disclaimer of Warranty

The app is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. We don't guarantee it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that winery information is accurate or current.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Janro Gerhard Botha is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including any issues arising from visiting a winery listed in the app or from using a third-party navigation app launched from Wine Passport.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa.
