These terms govern your use of Wine Passport ("the app"), developed by Janro Gerhard Botha ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms.

Use of the App

You may use Wine Passport for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, redistribute, or resell the app or its content.

Winery Information

The app provides descriptions, locations, opening hours, facilities, and other details about independent wineries in Southern Africa for general informational purposes only. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or responsible for any winery listed in the app.

Opening hours, closed days, booking requirements, facilities, admission policies, and availability may change at any time and without notice, and a winery may close permanently or to the public. Always confirm directly with the winery before travelling. We do not warrant that any information in the app is accurate, complete, or current, and we accept no responsibility for any wasted journey, cost, or inconvenience arising from information that is incorrect or out of date.

Where the app records that a winery does not permit pets, restricts admission by age, requires a booking, or is closed, that information is likewise provided as a guide only and may be outdated. The winery's own conditions of entry always take precedence.

Coordinates and directions are provided via third-party mapping services; we are not responsible for their accuracy.

Tasting Prices

The app deliberately does not list tasting fees, menu prices, or admission charges. These change frequently, and an out-of-date price would set an expectation the winery never made. Any price you may encounter elsewhere in connection with Wine Passport is not quoted or guaranteed by us. Please contact the winery directly for current pricing.

Wine Passport Pro

Wine Passport Pro is an optional, one-time purchase that unlocks trip planning, map filters, and an unlimited wishlist. It is not a subscription — it does not renew, and it does not expire.

Purchases are processed entirely by the App Store or Google Play, under their own payment terms. We do not process payments, and we do not see, collect, or store your payment details. We are not able to issue refunds directly — refund requests must be made through Apple or Google, in accordance with their own policies.

Pricing is set and displayed through the App Store and Google Play, may vary by region, and may change over time; we do not guarantee a specific price.

Your Content

The app stores your "visited winery" selections locally on your device. You're responsible for this data — we don't back it up, sync it, or have access to it (see our Privacy Policy).

Intellectual Property

The Wine Passport name, logo, and app design are owned by Janro Gerhard Botha. All rights reserved.

Disclaimer of Warranty

The app is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. We don't guarantee it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that winery information is accurate or current.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Janro Gerhard Botha is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including any issues arising from visiting a winery listed in the app or from using a third-party navigation app launched from Wine Passport.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa.
